PRESERVED BUILDING, ATHENS
Neoclassical building, the construction of which began at the ends of the 19th century and completed in 1910. It is classified as a work of Art and declared as preserved HistoricalMonument.
The structural system comprised load bearing masonry, steel columns and beams and timber floor beams.
The existing condition was carefully mapped and records of all damages and flaws were kept to allow interpretation of building pathology. Remedial and strengthening measures respecting the Monumental character of the building were then designed and constructed .
The restored building is presently housing a multishop mall .
